She is a 19 years old, bringing greetings from Kolkata, she is currently doing Computer Science engineering. She started listening to legends like Deep Purple, White Snakes and Pink Floyd as early as when she was just little kid.

In the meanwhile, exploring this arena made her to like more underground forms such as Grind, Goregrind, Underground Black Metal, Pornogrind etc. But she certainly admires and loves all genres and subgenres of music, having a special love for Indian Music scene and have firm belief that they would go a very very very long way towards success, in the years to come!

Cattle Decapitation is a band, that I heard few times before as well. And to be very honest. I really like it. This is a band, formed by the influence of older Brutal Death Metal bands like Putrid Pile, Cephalic Carnage etc. They also tend to draw towards the fast pace, ever-changing , fractured structuring evident in Deathgrind like Aborted. The band's drumming style is exquisite and is surely producing some raw kick to the jaw music. The latest offering Monolith Of Inhumanity is their longest and greatest.

To be very honest, I was never a fan of this band, and as hard as I try, I can never actually be a fan of this band. They have never produced any album that would lead me to say, "awesome stuff". Their last good work would be Death Ritual back in 2008. I did not have very high expectation from Undead as well, and to be honest, it actually lived upto my low expectation only!

Onirophagus is a Death/Doom Metal band formed in September 2011. The band hails from Barcelona, Spain. Currently they are located in L' Hospitalet. They are formed under the influence of bands like My Dying Bride, Ophis, Incantation, Immolation, Evoken etc. Onirophagus, blends a very nice version of "death" with "doom" to produce a brilliant cross-over between Ophis and Incantation. They have induced a pain filled vocals in the song along with some depressive riffs and huge barrage of blast-beats.

This French quintet probably gave us their best production till now, with their latest offering. Gorod, a Death Metal/Grindcore band, came up with some of the very best new Death Metal tracks in the year 2012, with their latest album to offering A Perfect Absolution. Their last two full length album Leading Vision and Process Of A New Decline also served us with some nice tracks, and nonetheless, they were very nicely crafted as well. The band draws shows heavy latin, bebop influences mixed with tremolo picking and double bass drumming. They draw heavy influences from bands like Death, Cynic, Martyr etc. Adding to that, the songwriting is catchy and meaningful as well!

One of the North-Eastern band that I would love to hear, is AGNOSTIC. Formed in the late 2009, a five piece Death Metal act, came out with their recent release MORBID EMBRACEMENT. I haven’t heard much by them, though now, I think I have become a regular listener to them. A very no-nonsense Death Metal band, from Guwahati, Assam. I had a chance to talk with the manager of the band, Anish Bhattacharya, who gave me a clear motive and insight of the band. They have been mainly influenced by DEICIDE, VADER and CANNIBAL CORPSE. And they have won various competitions in Assam and also, played in Hornbill National Rock Contest (2011). Recently they would be playing in a large scale Underground Metal fest in Bangalore, Undergrind, alongside Singapore grind masters, WORMROT. Like all other bands, they wish to play in Wacken Open Air someday.

When CANNIBAL CORPSE released it’s EVISCERATION PLAGUE in the year 2009, it could’nt really hook me up to it, as much as KILL did, way back in the year 2006. However, the great buzz about TORTURE in the Metal world made me really excited. Since, Death Metal can give me eargasms, I was way eager to get hold of this. And certainly, once again, CANNIBAL CORPSE has me striking a huge beaming smile. And it’s a mad pleasure for me to review the band whom I have literally worshipped for all these years!

ABOMINABLE PUTRIDITY, producing some bone-crushing Slam Death Metal since the 90's. The newest addition would be Matti Way (ex-DISGORGE and PATHOLOGY). Matti Way would definitely be one of my very favorites and after hearing their disastrous debut in 2007, I was not expecting much from them. But Matti Way took all the misconceptions away from my mind. The moment his voice kicks in, you know you definitely want to hear them.

Dhishti India_Tour_Interview

Sri Lankan Black Metal band DHISHTI, made their second tour to India in the month of January and ending in the month of February, named Meditation Of Death Tour. An insight of the tour has been provided to us by the guitarist, Ramindu Sanka Deshapriya and the vocalist Jayakody Marlin. We would like to thank both of them for taking the time out for us and writing such elating words for us. We would also like to thank the whole band for helping us cover them. Here’s what the band has to say about their tour to India.

CHTHONIC play a style of Black Metal that infuses hints of Death Metal, Folklore etc. But recently they have shifted to a newer and more friendly genre called Oriental Metal, which was portrayed nicely in their MIRROR OF RETRIBUTION album, released in 2009.

This is the second output from the Belarussian, one man band called VIETAH. SMALISTY ZAH picked up from where the last album ZORNY MAROZ left off. A beautifully composed album, with good production. Overall a nice WIN!
