Formed in September 2009, hailing from London, UK, TRIFIXION is a Death Metal band with some grind element in them. A UTOPIA FOR THE DAMNED is their first full length debut album released in 1st June 2011, with 9 bone-crushing songs and an intro. They had a demo before named WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS made in the year 2010. Deriving influences from bands like DYING FETUS, PANTERA, CANNIBAL CORPSE, SUFFOCATION etc they have produced an album with nice elements of technicality and a very straight-forward essence towards Death Metal. Let's begin!

Track 1 or rather the intro THE HUMAN CONSTRUCT introduces the listener with the brutality that’s awaiting them later in the album. The second track starts with a solo which might show it’s resemblance with any of the band’s influences, but a job really well done. The song combines nice slow regions and blasts up on the later stages. This song is perhaps one of the most interesting song in the whole album. Following with the third song, DELTA 9 MESSIAH has absolutely showed the band’s love towards their influence CANNIBAL CORPSE. The song kickstarts with a slow speed and later progressing with great and brutal pace. This song however has breakdowns, which has given the song a whole new approach altogether. The fourth song, IN NOMINE PATRIS, the Latin form of ‘In the name of father’ is another kickass number from the album.

BLOODSHOT PORN the next track, would interest the fans of Death Metal quite a bit. The powerful vocals with a barrage of pummelling drumbeats, might remind the listeners of DYING FETUS. Nonetheless, the song is really madass and would certainly qualify as my favourite from the album. The next song, SHOWERED IN GLASS WORLD OF SHIT would be one of the recommended songs in the album including vivid portrayal of every element of Death Metal to a great extent. Following the sixth, beckons the seventh song SERPHANT AND RAINBOW starting with 2 seconds of a nice bass-line followed by fast and barbaric drum patterns that might glue any ear to the speaker. The next two songs WHORE GODDESS and the THE LAST APOCALYPSE brings us almost to the end of this awesome album leaving the listener to loathe for the last track. The last and the tenth track FREEDOM OF THE MALADJUSTED gives a slow start introducing a beautiful portion of piano in the middle from 1:53, and throws you off in the brutal world all of a sudden. The total and rightful show stopper of the album.

All in all, the album has crystal clear sound and all instruments are perfectly heard. Great production with no complaints. Although the album does not provide us much with creativity, but have been blending their influences nicely to create a more modern sound. Potentially the band is insanely crazy and we hope they would keep on producing albums like this in the future with fresh and new sound and much more creativity.

NOTE: This is what the band has to say on describing their own album “A UTOPIA FOR THE DAMNED is a concept of awareness of the planet as a whole and what we have done to ourselves in the name of Religion, Profit, Politics and Control And when we finally destroy ourselves with it, what comes next”.

Bottom Line

TRIFIXION is perfectly walking in the right track, as required and we hope these mighty Britishmen would continue to keep the flag high up for Death Metal.

She is a 19 years old, bringing greetings from Kolkata, she is currently doing Computer Science engineering. She started listening to legends like Deep Purple, White Snakes and Pink Floyd as early as when she was just little kid.

In the meanwhile, exploring this arena made her to like more underground forms such as Grind, Goregrind, Underground Black Metal, Pornogrind etc. But she certainly admires and loves all genres and subgenres of music, having a special love for Indian Music scene and have firm belief that they would go a very very very long way towards success, in the years to come!
