IMR: Namastey Deepak! How are you doing and how is the year 2010 treating you till date? Also, I would like to congratulate BANDISH on behalf of Team IMR for the release of their second self-titled album, how is it going?
Deepak(Bandish): Namastey and thank you for the wishes and this platform guys! 2010 has been a dream year so far…close to a 100 gigs with BANDISH all over the country a 3 year 3 album deal with Universal Music of which the 1st one is already out a terrific video shoot in Mumbai tons of P R activities…Whew! In short it’s been a crazy year so far!
IMR: Greetings Sunny, great to have a talk with you guys. Anyways, for my first question, can you give a short back story of the band for those who are not familiar with CHRONIC XORN?
CHRONIC XORN(Sunny): Hi! Well it’s a question which we would love to answer; CHRONIC XORN began their journey in the late 2007 with a dream of making good music and conveying it to others. Since then, we have evolved ourselves and thus the sound of the band to satisfy our tastes and come up with something which is up to our satisfactory mark. The band began with a whole different set of musicians which included Sunny, Abhinav, Anindya, Jeet, Tamaghna and Soumyabrata. Time played its games and made some of the founder members to leave the band. We consider ourselves lucky enough to have got a good bassist in Angshuman who succeeded Jeet. Anindya was later on replaced by Suvam on guitars. Then Abhinav had to leave the band after a while due to some unavoidable circumstances and now we have our good old friend Anindya back in the band replacing Abhinav on guitars. It is a line up which we are very happy with and is quite a stable one; includes – Sunny, Suvam, Anindya, Angshuman, Tamaghna and Soumyabrata. We have seen the toughest of times as well as our share of the purple patch. The band has had lots of gigs and lot more fun playing together which we hope never ends.
IMR: Howdy LUCID RECESS and congratulations for the release of your full-length album ENGRAVED INVITATION! Also, one thing that I would really like to know is that, it had been almost three years since your last E.P was released, any significant reason behind the band being calm on the musical scene or maybe I am wrong?
LR: Hello IMR and thanks for having us here. Well after we released our EP in Dec 2007, we didn’t consider making another album for a while. We wanted people to know about us before we released another album. We weren’t exactly calm; we did quite a lot of shows and played at some major festivals during that time. We also opened our studio for good and recorded a lot of bands during this time. It was only in early 2009 that we thought of making a second record and we planned on having it done by the mid of 09, but couldn’t because we had to wait for a long time for some of the equipments to arrive, which we used on the album. So finally on 26th April, we released our first full length album.
IMR: Congratulations KASTADYNE for the launch of your latest album HOVER. Also, I would like to thank you guys for taking time to speak to us regarding your latest effort as it has been almost 3 years we met on this side of the globe. So, how has the album been recognized so far and any specific significance behind the album title?
Sheldon : Thanks IMR for featuring us. The overall response to the album so far has been splendid. The album is slowly gaining popularity; people seem to like this one better. The album title ‘HOVER’ is inspired by one of the songs in the album titled COME HOVER THE EARTH.
IMR: Welcome to IMR, what has been up with the band lately?
FLI: We are working on our debut album. Taking a hard look at the songs. The band also underwent a line up change recently. Curenlty, Rohit Mukherjee took over the bass duties for the band.
