Guitarist Baiju Dharmajan Inks Deal With Cochym

Baiju Label

Baiju Dharmajan, former guitarist with Kerala Rock act MOTHERJANE and one of India’s most acclaimed guitarists, has just announced that he’s signed with Cochym, a new label and artist management company based in Cochin, Kerala. Famously known as “The God of Small Strings” for his Carnatic-inspired guitar style, Dharmajan will release his forthcoming debut solo album on the label.

In addition to his work on his album, Dharmajan also recently collaborated with Indo-fusion electronica producer Karsh Kale and percussionist/singer Hari Govindan on the song SACRED SCIENCE for the acclaimed indie music TV series The Dewarists.

Dharmajan left MOTHERJANE in 2010, after 11 years and two albums with the band (2001’s INSANE BIOGRAPHY and 2008’s MAKTUB). Post MOTHERJANE, Dharmajan reunited with his old band WRENZ (reformed as WRENZ UNITED), for a brief spell. WRENZ UNITED released BY THE MOONLIGHT, a three-song EP in January this year before Dharmajan decided to strike out on his own.
