Nathaniel School Of Music Issues Update

Nathaniel School

So you've got a couple of gigs done, and the band is feeling pretty good. What's the next big step? Or maybe you're just starting to put a band together, and you need a big push right up front to get you on your feet and moving. Then again, maybe you've been away from music for a while and you'd really like a group that hangs out every weekend, learns more about music and does a jam every so often.

This is where it all goes down. Nathaniel's Music Club addresses the biggest concern of every new and continuing musician: sustainability. How do you keep it going, if you're not taking classes or can't seem to organise a regular jam? How do you find more gigs to play? How do you get more people to listen? How do you put more into your compositions?

Music is inherently social, and the answer to all those questions, is you play with other people.

There will be 4 activities each month on the 4 Saturdays available. The club features talented faculty from the Indian music scene who will discuss topics including Songwriting, Ear Training, Theory, Technology and Business. There is also a session called "The Random Jam" where students get to discuss their musical ideas with the whole club and faculty. An out-station student can also avail of the club as all sessions are interactive via Twitter and will be available as videos online.

Any student who is interested in music is free to be part of the Nathaniel Music Club.
