Artillerie - New Offensive(E.P)

Artillerie No Offensive Review

Now,this is outstanding ! I still remember, it was by some chance that I came across "ARTILLERIE" but, I must even admit that it was more than just being worth after I went through their soul originals.  I don't think, it would be wrong to call themselves an "Indian Metalcore"answers to all those "American Metalcore" outfits. The Delhi Devils have just arrived with their debut E.P "NEW OFFENSIVE" and are looking pretty confident on their musical ground.Musically, the E.P "NEW OFFENSIVE" is embedded with melodic riffs, guttural vocal exhortations, and fucking brilliant marching over the drums, which just drew my attention and took me to "ARTILLERIE's" music chamber.

The E.P "NEW OFFENSIVE", includes a package of 4 original compositions by the band, which mainly focusses on the contemporary issues either at a personal or societal level. As informed by the band, "NEW OFFENSIVE" holds a lot of relevance for the band since it heralds their brand new beginning and initiation into a greater level of creativity and competency in creating metal music.

Is this my download for the year 2008, lucky me that I have the E.P "NEW OFFENSIVE", okay keep that aside, let me brief you about the new gem. Ah! Here,I come on to the tracks. "NEW OFFENSIVE" starts creeping inside you with the track "Retrospect In Red" one of my personal favorite from the E.P , the track tells you about the soldier who is recollecting his days at war and the effect of those memories on his life and outlook on the world.  The track leads with rhythm, churning guitars, adroit songwriting and dual vocals and that shows professionalism. I would really be very happy to have a video for this one."Blind Pharisee",a very much of a "Metalcore" start assumes more aggressiveness and heaviness with unremitting guitars, than most of the other ones here and stabbing the listener symmetrically. This song is actually about the statement made by Jesus Christ to the hypocritical religious leaders of his days, who used to incessantly manipulate unknowing people through fear and ignorance to gather wealth and respect for themselves.  "Song Of The Trodden", the track which many can relate at different levels. It deals with the subject of an individual losing his identity to the one that the world created for him by telling him what he should be like, and what he should do to ‘make’  it in life. In the end, he just finds himself broken, lost and completely confused about his identity and the purpose of his very existence.Lastly, "New Offensive" pushes the E.P all the way to the fore, cascading and ultimately blending of guitar lines makes it prominent.  This one can be considered as a sequel to the "Song of the Trodden", which calls for individuals, like the one in the "Song of the Trodden", to rise up and take a stand for themselves and reclaim their identity and purpose for which they were originally created.   I do realize that I am going deep in to each and every song, but that is absolutely mandatory for this release and I can guarantee you that each and every track featured on this musical composition is fucking awesome.

The E.P "NEW OFFENSIVE" has some true, inspiring and noteworthy lyrics, which directly hits up to your brains. The range of the vocalist is pretty up to the mark, but I think could do much more better which could definitely thrash the listeners head in to pieces. There isn't a single moment on the disc which you will find boring, the time you put the disc in motion. The disc need not ask for multiple rotations to capture your minds, instead it will directly punch your fucking face. Another significant distinctive property which I found about the E.P is that the tracklisting is really done in a better manner, which you will rarely found in many of the albums. Hats off, really to the sound production which is really exquisite and each and every  note would be melting your ear drums. I must say, they have wriiten a pretty soild E.P,but why not full-length album buggers?

"ARTILLERIE's" varied influences is praiseworthy, but the fact remains that their compositions is still far from being original, but I can assure you that is possesses something that will impress the genre veterans up to the point of idol worshipping. For their impending follow-up disaster, I would like to hear them play music that sounds less inspired by "LAMB OF GOD", as it is a band that we have all been used too for years, and excessive reminders of which might not grab the listeners attention. Overall, the E.P "NEW OFFENSIVE" is a recognizable debut by the band and is also an inquisitive and potentially enjoyable E.P to the highest degree. The E.P has all the characteristic features, which is required for a metalcore opus and has "EVERYFUCKINGTHING" right !!! Metalheads, it is worth spending banknotes on it and get consumed by the monsters.

So,did you guys get that, what am I trying to speak by doing all these hardwork. Go, order the E.P "NEW OFFENSIVE" now !!!

Bottom Line :: Get prepared to bleed "METAL" from your infected body !!!
