Vinapra - Self Titled Debut Album

Vinapra

VINAPRA', the self titled Debut Hindi Rock album has a unique Indian touch to it. The first thing that catches your attention is the cover itself, quite simple, sober and loving too, supplimented by good vocals and composition, riff-raff guitars and not to forget to mention the master work done by manoj (violin) makes it the finest packaged album for the year 2008, that you would love to listen.

'VINAPRA' the album has 9 tracks running for about 38 minutes, each of which has either an inspirational or lifebased message to it. To start with, the very first track ' Aankhon mein ' it is a sad romantic song ..... yeah it is a romantic song, but quite good with beautifull Composition and Vocals by natraj . The next track is 'Kya yehi pyar hai', frankly speaking it fails to hit a cord, this is not what they play. It has a touch of modern rock to it with nice beats by Prasad on Drums. 'Dreams' the next one will definitely make a mark in your heart. Its a Hindi-english fusion song with good Guitars by Vivian adding melody to it. Here i reach to tell you something about the best song of the album 'Gurur Bramha Gurur Vishnu', this song will really drive you crazy, Natraj is at his best on vocals, Vivian & Pradeep adding heavy guitars to it, Prasad on drums and manoj on violins, i bet that this song will go on and on somewhere in the back of your mind. This song tells you about the present age, how the common man dwells in Kaliyug and asks god to have a look on all the ba dthings happening on his planet earth. The next track is 'Nasha' (5th track), the track which i like the most. This song has got a nice melody to it, which reminds me of the music which is played in the villages side. This is the song where 'VINAPRA' show what they can play. For me Manoj(Violin) should get the credit for this song.A purely Indian and Hindi Rock song, hats off to them. 'Baaton mein' the next heavy song in the album with good Guitars and Vocals that has got the ups and downs goes from classical to rock. Next comes 'Yaadien', kind of very soft song with great acoustic guitars starts slowly and shows how drums are to be played. The last track is'Dharti' a must listen to each and every indian with awesome lyrics showing our unity and how we Indians don't let things go away from our hands.

Signs of maturity are evident, and maturity displays experience, how close one has been to life, they are into releasing their second album sadly we still don't get the CD's in the western region. But here the local crowd is to be blamed who spends thousands on some cheap foreign artists ,but won't buy an Indian artists/bands CD for worth Rs 125/- .So don't just read the review ,there's a lot more then these write-ups. Grab a copy to believe me,because the uniqueness about their music is intact and quite traditonal which you will hardly see in most of the Indian bands nowdays. And for all the metalhead's ,have your say.

"Thanks to Vinapra for providing us with the review copy. " - From Team IMR.Rock On !!!
