The E.P contains three quality tracks that define the sound of the band very well, and projects them as the soon-going-to-be-biggies in the Hard Rock tending towards Metal genre. Though their sound cannot be termed as wholly an original effort, as influences are clearly felt in their tracks, it is still classy, and you will love to go back to their songs once in a while, if they are in your playlist, which should be the case.
MUTTER begins with PORCUPINE TREE-esque vocals and swiftly changes gear to engage in headbanging stuff. But the track sounds very amateurish, probably because of the editing, specifically the guitar parts which sound a little out of tune initially. THE PRISION WITH TWO HANDS sounds more professional, though the vocals need to improve quite a bit. Given that they are a pretty young unit, they have a lot of scope to do so. The instrumental and the vocal channels sound a little separated, not blending as perfectly as it should have. Influences derived from Thrash Metal and Progressive Metal of the 80's are evident, and they could have added a little bit of their own musicality to make the track a stand-out one. DECEIT, in my opinion is the best musically as the band has tried to fit in elements, and has succeeded quite a bit in doing so. Aspects of Metalcore, Progressive Metal and Classic Hard Rock are blended quite brilliantly. A little bit of LINKIN PARK and DREAM THEATER could be felt and there’s no harm in it absolutely. After all, we all have our set of influences.
WHAT GOOGLE CAN'T FIND may have such a name, but if they better themselves in their next musical offering, I’m pretty sure they’ll throw up a lot of results on the site from which their name is derived.
Bottom Line
STIGMA(E.P), being a debut effort, couldn’t have been much better than this. Congratulations to WHAT GOOGLE CAN'T FIND!
