The second year into the new venue DYPSA convocation Unchained 2012 is back this 4th March 2012. Unchained is one of the very few gigs in Mumbai that continues to remain an open-air event. This year brings a massive line up to the stage with headliners BHAYANAK MAUT, DEVOID and ABRAXAS and opening acts WIRED ANXIETY and GRIMMORTAL.

Pune Metal heavyweights ABRAXAS have released their first "video update" titled ABRAXAS IN THE STUDIO - VIDEO UPDATE 1 on ABRAXAS HD, the band's Youtube Channel. They had recently released a clip of guitarist Vinay Joseph playing his solo from one of their originals, 7TH ELEMENT.

Indian Metal band DEMONIC RESURRECTION  have released 4 pro shot videos from their All-Star Concert held in November. The All-Star Concert was one of the pre-parties held for the Bacardi NH7 Weekender. The All-Star Concert saw a host of vocalists and bass players join the band on stage creating a unique experience for DEMONIC RESURRECTION fans.

IMR: Hello, Akshat Vaze! Okay, so before starting with the interview, it would be great if you could give a brief run-down about the bands origin since younger days?
Akshat Vaze(WGCF): WGCF started off as a onetime thing for me and the drummer, Aashish, back last year when it wasn’t a band. We were called to be a part of the instrumentation of a German theatre group known as "Bunte Buehne" which was a part of "Max Mueller Bhavan" here in Pune. So we, I don’t know why, stuck around for a couple of months and we played around. We actually started off as a German cover band. We officially started off in July/ August of 2010.

You take one look at the insane solos, drum-beats and the growling and you know this is a band you just CANNOT ignore! Say hello to ABRAXAS from Pune, whose brand of Melodic Death Metal music is fast catching the ears of metalheads across the country! Their extremely aggressive, intense and mind-blasting performances led them to win the revered RAIT Unchained soon after their formation in September 2008, and the National Finals of Campus Rock Idols Edition 5 leading them to open for heavy metal giants IRON MAIDEN at Rock in India, merely 2 months after their formation, alongside bands such as CYANIDE SERENITY, DE PROFUNDIS, SLAIN and PARIKRAMA. The band has since performed in Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Cherrapunjee, Manipal, Hyderabad and Goa and stamped their presence strong, in the metal scene in the country! This is Abhimanyu Singh Negi, lead guitarist of ABRAXAS, in a candid chat with us about metal, music, Maiden, and ofcourse - ABRAXAS!

Ok, so I’d finally gotten SCRIBE and ABRAXAS confirmed for their gig here in the DAIICT campus on the 27th February 2011, and I was pretty confident that the combo would be perfect for the metal-crazy crowd here in Gujarat. Seeing that this was the first time SCRIBE would be playing here, there was going to be a huge turnout.  Then, after getting about 1200 attendees on the FaceBook page for the event and looking at the enthusiasm of the people, I was sure this gig would be huge. The gig started at 10.30 pm on that day. By 1 am, the crowd had slumped into varying levels of madness and Vishwesh from SCRIBE was left panting and shouting out to the crowd about how crazy they’d been.

The biggest Rock festival of Gujarat is all set to leave the local crowd headbanging furiously this time around!

Vincent Pereira was a local Mumbai boy, born on 26th May 1985. He was known for his Gratefulness, Modesty and Musicianship. Till date Vincent is still recognized as a true friend by every musician in Mumbai. He was fondly known as “The Beast” by all. He was a prime member of PRAKALP and played a major role in the band as he kept pushing his band members constantly to be different, in their playing patterns and genre, which no other band had done before. They were the first “Hindi Metal band”. He also played with bands like ATMOSFEAR(Death Metal), PRIMAL RAGE(Thrash Metal), SPIKED CRIB(Black Metal) and also was a part of a Gospel Rock band. He was, and still is a true inspiration to the youth and is a reason why so many of us want to pick up the bass.
