Danish Folk Metal band SVARTSOT has issued the following band update:
"After spending the past year or so on writing new tracks, we will be heading back into the studio from the second week of March to record our third album. The recording will once again take place at Lasse Lammert's LSD STUDIO in Lübeck, Germany, and will include around 10 tracks of the strongest material we've written so far. The theme of the album is based on the plague epidemic that swept through Europe during the middle of the 14th century, and that would later become known as the Black Death. We feel that this lyrical concept aptly fits the way the music has turned out for this album - so more medieval flavours and intricacies can be expected this time round. A July release for the album is expected, and we will post updates over the next few weeks as work on the album progresses. So stay tuned for more news."

Progressive Melodic Death metallers SCAR SYMMETRY from Sweden will release their new album, THE UNSEEN EMPIRE in Europe on 15th April 2011 through NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS.

Norwegian Extreme Metal band INSENSE will release their fourth album, BURN IN BEAUTIFUL FIRE on 8th April 2011 through INDIE RECORDINGS.

Danish Extreme metallers CORPUS MORTALE recently entered ANTFARM STUDIO in Århus, Denmark with producer Jacob Olsen(PANZERCHRIST) to begin recording their third album for a late 2011 release.

Extreme Metal band DEEDS OF FLESH from California, USA will enter the studio in May/June to begin recording their ninth album, PORTAL TO CANAAN for a late 2011 release via UNIQUE LEADER RECORDS.

Norwegian Black/Thrash Metal band SARKE featuring Sarke(real name: Thomas Bergli; KHOLD, TULUS, OLD MANS CHILD, SENSA ANIMA) and Nocturno Culto(DARKTHRONE), will release its sophomore album, OLDARHIAN on 15th April 2011 via INDIE RECORDINGS.

Ralf Van Der Horst, the guitarist has left Den Bosch, Netherlands-based Thrash/Death Metal band PERSISTENCE(a contraction of the words "to persist" and "intense"). The rest of the band will not seek a replacement and will continue as a four-piece.

IMPERIA, the Dutch/Norwegian Goth Metal band will release its new album, SECRET PASSION on 25th March 2011 through MASSACRE RECORDS. The CD was recorded at SPACELAB STUDIO in Germany. The album's first single, LET DOWN features a guest appearance by cellist Tina Guo.

Extreme Metal band AZARATH featuring BEHEMOTH drummer Zbigniew Robert "Inferno" Prominski, will release its as-yet-untitled fifth album on 6th June 2011 via WITCHING HOUR PRODUCTIONS. The CD was recorded in January and February at HERTZ STUDIO(VADER, BEHEMOTH) with the Wieslawscy Bros handling the production, mixing and mastering. The music was composed and arranged by Inferno and Bart, while Necrosodom wrote all the lyrics. 10 new devilish hymns were recorded for the album, including BEHOLD THE SATAN's SWORD, UNDER THE WILL OF THE LORD, DEATHSTORMS RAID THE EARTH and LUCIFER's RISING.
