Bangalore based Progressive/Experimental Metal quintent CHEISRAH are probably one of the most refreshing and new one to the circuit. They took the scene in May 2011, hitting both on and off stage and with their new EP, OMG! SHE'S HERE.

Bangalore, Karnataka based Experimental Metal act CHEISRAH released their debut EP, OMG! SHE'S HERE! online today [Mid-Night] in a very low key affair. This short EP consisting of 3 tracks is available for "Free Download" and streaming. The Bangalore based quintet, all hailing from North East India (except for Thejus Nair) brings in their different individual influences and fuses them together into their sound. No particular theme/lyrics has been followed in the EP. However the first track is dedicated to the Iron Lady of Manipur, Irom Sharmila Chanu, who has been in hunger strike since 10 years as a protest against the draconian Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA). All together, CHEISRAH is looking forward to give the Metal clan a fresh cream to enjoy and some pure headbanging Metal music. They are working on their live act and will start doing gigs soon in and around Bangalore.

With no major Indian album release in sight, Bangalore based Melodic/Thrash Metal band FORSAKEN breaks the monotony with their first full-length record titled HEMISPHERES. Previous year the band came out with its decent debut EP, DISENGAGE. Hence, for the fans of FORSAKEN, this album had quite an expectation.

It’s really sad when you see a band being really good at their instruments but are lacking when it comes to creativity. I have seen so many bands that are very tight and can pull off all those complicated solos and the drummer can play all the polyrhythms, but they fail to emote something from all of that. VERSES unfortunately fall into this category.

Bangalore Hardcore/Metalcore outfit FINAL SURRENDER is out with their second release, ST.SINNER, an EP featuring mere 3 tracks & offered as FREE DOWNLOAD to the fans. Drawing inspiration from bands like AUGUST BURNS RED, PERIPHERY & AS I LAY DYING, the band has created ther own sound rather than ending up being a clone.

Bangalore, Karnataka based Thrash Metal act KRYPTOS have unveiled the cover of their upcoming album titled THE COILS OF APOLLYON which will be released via OLD SCHOOL METAL RECORDS later this year. 

Bangalore based Experimental/Melodic Death Metal band FORSAKEN is out with their new single titled BUILT BY SAND online recently.

THE FIREFLIES FESTIVAL OF MUSIC 2011 will be held at the Fireflies Intercultural Centre on the 19th February, 2011.
