Last year saw the rise of this very unique band from USA. Their debut LP, AQUARIUS stunned critics and masses alike with the seemless progression and extreme rhythmic highs and lows. Many listeners initially called them DREAM THEATER with a different drummer but their AQUARIUS proved everyone wrong. They made an album and stuffed in a solid punch with their soothing yet solid vocals and versatile drum rudiments.

STORM CORROSION, the much-anticipated collaboration project between OPETH's Mikael Åkerfeldt and PORCUPINE TREE's Steven Wilson, earlier in the year completed work on its self-titled debut album for an April 2012 release through ROADRUNNER RECORDS. Apart from Mikael and Steven, the CD includes guest appearances by Gavin Harrison (PORCUPINE TREE) on drums/percussion, Ben Castle on woodwinds and Dave Stewart on string arrangements.

ON THE BACK OF ANGELS, a brand new song from Progressive Metal giants DREAM THEATER, is available for streaming at the ROADRUNNER RECORDS YouTube Channel. The track comes off the band's new album, A DRAMATIC TURN OF EVENTS, which is scheduled for release on 13th September via ROADRUNNER RECORDS. The CD was mixed by Andy Wallace, who has previously worked with AVENGED SEVENFOLD, WHITE ZOMBIE, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, SEPULTURA, SLAYER and NIRVANA, among many others.

Progressive Metal giants DREAM THEATER have tapped Andy Wallace (AVENGED SEVENFOLD, WHITE ZOMBIE, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, SEPULTURA, SLAYER, NIRVANA) to mix their new album, tentatively due in September via ROADRUNNER RECORDS. The band's keyboardist, Jordan Rudess, said, "We are all Really excited to have [Andy's] magic touch!"

As a citizen of Kolkata myself, I have often been amidst extraordinarily talented musicians over the years and still seem to do so every now and then. Obviously there is no lack of musical genius here, and the close proximity to the Rock capital of India has blessed it with innumerable number of amazing artists, soulful singer-songwriters and countless bands. So DARK PROJECT’s LIBERTY & ENTROPY was from my perspective under a lot of pressure to outdo and outmatch the many able and gifted bands the City of Joy has produced. So technically it would be nothing less than a monumental task to set itself apart from the madding music crowd and bring to the forefront a piece of work that is refreshingly extraordinary, brimming with talent and possessing tremendous potential for growth.

Melodic Death Metal is one genre that has been attempted by few Indian bands, such as ACRID SEMBLANCE and CORRODED DREAMS. After 3 years of that record, New Delhi based Melo-Death act ARCANE DECEPTION is out with their self-titled debut EP. Formed in 2008, ARCANE DECEPTION is a 4-piece band with influences drawn from bands like CHILREN OF BODOM, DREAM THEATER etc.
