ORPHANED LAND is a Israeli Doom/Death/Progressive Metal band which spans a musical journey of more than 20 years.
Incorporating "jewish" and "arabic" influences into their lyrical landscaping - the band are the pioneers of the middle-eastern Progressive Metal genre. The striking factor lies in the fact that the band fuses traditional middle-eastern instruments with modern guitars and drums to create a completely different yet melodic sound.The band has a unique stage presence as well. With traditional jewish, muslim and christian attires, the band sends a strong message of religious harmony not just through their costumes but also their lyrical themes.

The second trailer for HELVETIOS, the new album from Swiss Folk Metal band ELUVEITIE, can be seen below. Due on 10th February via NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS, the CD was recorded at NEW SOUND STUDIO in Pfäffikon, a municipality in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland, with producer Tommy Vetterli (a.k.a Tommy T. Baron; CORONER/ex-KREATOR guitarist). According to the band, Vetterli "record[ed] drums, guitars and vocals and also produc[ed] and mix[ed] the record. Most folk instruments and also vocals [were] recorded by Anna Murphy and Marco Jencarelli at the SOUNDFARM STUDIOS in Lucerne."

Swiss Folk Metal band ELUVEITIE will release their new album, HELVETIOS, on 10th February 2012 via NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS. THE INIQUITY DESCENT, the Extreme Metal project featuring vocalist Mathias "Vreth" Lillmåns of Finnish Folk Metal band FINNTROLL, has inked a deal with MASSACRE RECORDS. The band has entered the studio to begin recording its debut album for a 2012 release.

THE INIQUITY DESCENT released its debut EP, TRUST THE SERPENT, in November 2010. The CD was mastered at NORDIC AUDIO LABS by Sami "Hannu" Koivisto and contains four songs (out of 11 that were tracked).

Yossi Sassi, guitarist, founding member and musical mastermind of Israeli Progressive Folk Metal masters ORPHANED LAND, is working on his first album as a solo artist. The CD will feature guest appearances by former MEGADEATH guitarist Marty Friedman and "other leading musicians."

TAKASAGO ARMY, the new album from Taiwanese Metal band CHTHONIC, can be streamed in its entirety at AOL Music. The CD will be released in North America on 6th September via SPINEFARM RECORDS. Produced by Rickard Bengtsson (ARCH ENEMY, NEMESIS) at SWEET SPOT STUDIOS in Halmstad, Sweden, this 10-track outing completes a trilogy of CHTHONIC releases, telling a story that binds together the band's SEEDIQ BALE and MIRROR OF RETRIBUTION albums, released in 2007 and 2009, respectively.

Danish Folk Metal band SVARTSOT will release thier third album, MALEDICTUS ERIS via NAPALM RECORDS on the following dates:

August 1 - Rest Of Europe
