North-East India's Black Metal spearheads, INSANE PROPHECY are the talk of the town again. Since their formation in the year 2008, they have been constantly in the public eye, be it for their revolutionary lyrics or their line-up changes.
With their debut EP, APOGEE OF AN INQUISITION out, the band is hogging huge amounts of cyberspace as well as claiming their place in every metalhead's playlist. So we caught up with Ifty Sarwar to know more about their journey as a band, how they've been witness to the changing music scenario, their philosophy and their much talked Black Metal lyrical themes.
IMR: Hails Ifty! I know, you guys must be really busy with the release of the band’s debut material, isn't it? But before we proceed, I was just curious to know about the Black Metal Krieg II gig that happened at B69?
Ifty Sarwar: Well playing at Black Metal Krieg II was a cool experience. It was our first gig in Mumbai where we got to share the stage with some of the finest Black Metal acts from India and Sri Lanka. We’ve released our debut gig out there and the response was great.
When I first heard the name INSANE PROPHECY, I was a little sceptical about how the band might be because quite frankly INSANE PROPHECY isn’t really a very good name for a band, it sounds like a couple of guys chatting in slang over the internet like "Doood the prophecy was insane man, it was so epic bro. Total ownage." But then I thought what’s in a name and decided to give these guys a shot and boy was I surprised!
Guwahati, Assam based Black Metal band INSANE PROPHECY have announced the release of their debut EP titled APOGEE OF AN INQUISITION that will be released on 21st January 2012. The EP has been recorded at LUCID RECESS STUDIOS in Guwahati, Assam and produced by Siddharth Barooa. The artwork has been created by Riaj Gragoth, LUCIFERIUM WAR GRAPHICS.
First of all “Kudos” to North East India Rock Music for bringing out this compilation. It’s not just another album but an effort in bringing out the best in the region and give them an exposure in the national level. North East is always a home for western music (not just metal). From years it is the venue for many rock concerts hosting from White Lion to Scorpions also producing bands like GREAT SOCIETY, LUCID RECESS, SOULMATE and DARK HORIZON who already made an impression in the hearts of metal fans all over the country creating legends like Lau Majaw. But there are many who have that potential but still in search for some exposure. And this album is exactly going to provide them the same.
North East India Rock Music releases THE BEST OF NORTH EAST INDIAN METAL today in support of Indianrockmp3.com and Indianmusicrevolution.com. Its the first effort of the website to do something for the North East Indian metal scene. It is a compilation album comprising of various bands of different sub-genres of Metal, the bands are from North Eastern part of the country mainly. The album is up for FREE download!
