Bangalore based Progressive/Experimental Metal quintent CHEISRAH are probably one of the most refreshing and new one to the circuit. They took the scene in May 2011, hitting both on and off stage and with their new EP, OMG! SHE'S HERE.

Finland's Progressive Death/Doom Metal band BARREN EARTH have entered Helsinki's SONIC PUMP STUDIOS to record the follow-up to last year's highly acclaimed debut album, CURSE OF THE RED RIVER.

A brand new song titled HEIMVEGEN from Norwegian Extreme Metal band ENSLAVED, is available for streaming at MetalInjection.net. The track comes off the band's new EP, THE SLEEPING GODS, which will be released for free via SCION A/V in the near future.

OBSCURA drummer Hannes Grossman will release his instructional DVD, "Progressive Concepts For The Modern Metal Drummer". The 2-DVD set features almost four hours of lessons, clips, and live footage of both OBSCURA and NECROPHAGIST and is available for pre-order at HERE along with complete details on the DVD.

Following up from their debut E.P, DIRT BEYOND BEAUTY, Guwahati based Progressive/Experimental metallers SILVER TEARS recently released their second E.P titled ENSNARED. For those of you expecting new stuff, you’ll find it in the vocals - Girish Pradhan done the Vocalist cap in this one. The E.P does justice to the band’s genre Experimental in that they’ve tried a hell lot of stuff and churned out a fairly good Metal E.P– jamming in heavy spaced riffs, neatly crafted solos, decent keyboard parts, and a lot of double-bass drumming.

Guwahati based Progressive/Experimental act SILVER TEARS is set to release its second studio offering ENSNARED- a collection of re-recorded tunes from their debut E.P – DIRT BEYOND BEAUTY. The 3-track album has been re-recorded, mixed and mastered by Siddharth Barooa(Of LUCID RECESS fame). IMR: Greetings Hal Sinden! Before we start off the interview I was wondering if you could give a short introduction about the band’s inception for our readers and also the significance behind the band’s name TALANAS, how does it fit the band’s style ofmusic?
HAL: Greetings, and thank you for reading! TALANAS started in September 2008 immediately after the demise of INTERLOCK - the industrial metal band that Joe & I were in(signed to ANTICULTURE RECORDS). We struggled for ages to come up with a decent name as so many have been taken now by tiny, one-person bedroom bands on MySpace. Eventually, we found talanas completely by mistake whilst looking for names of beasts & mythical animals, it turns out it's a type of insect and have recently discovered that's it's also a solar phenomenon. The name itself has been quite useful since it’s unusual and hard to forget. We could’ve gone with one of the more ‘fashionable’ long emo names like ‘November My Cold Heart Betrothed’ or some othernonsense but TALANAS seems to grab some attention in a good way.

Take my word; this album will change your notion of Indian Progressive Metal by far. Following an EP release and much delay surrounding the release of their first full-length album, SLAIN and Co. have shown that that the wait was worth it and come up with a very positive, ‘feel-good’ album, keeping peace with both; the soft soothing music fans and the more metal driven ones.

Pagan Metal band MOONSORROW from Helsinki, Finland are currently streaming the bands new opus titled VARJOINA KULJEMME KUOLLEIDEN MAASSA in it's entirety at the Record Shop X Website.
