Finnish Death 'N' Rollers GHOUL PATROL have inked a deal with SPINEFARM RECORDS. The band's self-titled debut album will be released on 26th October. According to a press release, the CD contains "45 minutes of swampy American-styled Death 'N' Roll!"
Swedish Melodic Rock band DEAD BY APRIL will release their second studio album, INCOMPARABLE, in Sweden on 21st September through UNIVERSAL MUSIC. A new video, CALLING, can now be viewed below. This is actually the second single from the new album, following on from WITHIN MY HEART, released earlier this year.
Niklas Kvarforth, founder and frontman of Swedish Extreme Metal band SHINING, has announced details of the upcoming release of a solo project that will chart fifteen years of his often controversial musical career. FIFTEEN YEARS OF ABSOLUTE DARKNESS, scheduled for release via SPINEFARM RECORDS on 7th December, will feature 15 tracks from various bands on which Kvarforth has guested on vocals. Included are tracks from bands such as GRAVDAL, BETHLEHEM, THE VISION BLEAK, DEN SAAKALDTE, as well as a previously unreleased alternative version of SHINING's, FORTVIVLAN, MIN ARVEDEL. The double CD will come with a lavishly illustrated booklet which contains Kvarforth's comments on all the tracks.
WASTEHEAD, a brand new track from Finnish Metal band PROFANE OMEN, can be streamed at the band's official web site (in the player on the left side). The track comes off the group's third album, DESTROY!, which is scheduled for release on 28th September via SPINEFARM RECORDS. The CD was produced by Ville Sorvali (MOONSORROW) and Mikko Herranen (RUST) and was recorded in part at PETRAX STUDIOS in Hollola, Finland. The effort was mastered at Chartmakers in Helsinki.
The first-ever single released by Swedish Extreme Metal band SHINING, which was exclusively distributed in Sweden via SWEDEN ROCK MAGAZINE, was certified gold in the band's home country in August by the International Federation Of The Phonographic Industry for sales in excess of 10,000 copies. (Note: Each copy of the magazine containing the CD sold in Sweden was counted towards the certification; the single itself was "not" sold separately.)

Produced by Rickard Bengtsson (ARCH ENEMY, NEMESIS) at SWEET SPOT STUDIOS in Halmstad, Sweden, this 10-track outing completes a trilogy of CHTHONIC releases, telling a story that binds together the band's SEEDIQ BALE and MIRROR OF RETRIBUTION albums, released in 2007 and 2009, respectively.
