Poland has given us some of the best in Extreme Metal, be it the dark atmosphere of BEHEMOTH, the soaring brutality of VADER or the simply mad technicality of DECAPITATED. Although there have not been as many as bands from Poland as there have been from Sweden, Norway or even Germany. Those that have come out have earned a place in the history of Metal. DEIVOS is another band struggling amongst the heavyweights to have its name there, but does it succeed? That is the important question.

Released in Europe on 12th August and due in North America on 13th September via NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS, the CD was recorded at HERTZ STUDIO in Bialystok, Poland and features the cover artwork of Zbigniew Bielak (DESTROYER 666, WATAIN). The band laid down a total of 12 songs for the CD, which was mixed and mastered in May.

DECAPITATED SAINTS, a modern re-working of a track from 1989's NECROLUST(Demo) by Polish Death Metal veterans VADER, is now available for streaming on the band's Facebook page.

CANDLELIGHT RECORDS has set an 4th October North American release date for ABSU's new album titled ABZU. The CD is part two of a planned trilogy of recordings from the Dallas-based Occult Metal band. Mixed by J.T. Longoria (KING DIAMOND, SOLITUDE AETERNUS), the effort features the original works of Polish artist Zbigniew Bielak (WATAIN, BEHEMOTH, DESTROYER 666, VADER).

Polish kings of Satanic Metal, WITCHMASTER have finished recording four new tracks, to be released later in the year under the working title of SMIERC. The band states, "Expect nothing but raw, Old-School Metal in the traditional WITCHMASTER style."

San Diego's PATHOLOGY has entered LAMBESIS STUDIOS (owned by AS I LAY DYING vocalist Tim Lambesis) in the band's hometown with producer Daniel Castleman (IMPENDING DOOM, AS I LAY DYING, WINDS OF PLAGUE) to begin recording its new album for a fall release. This will be PATHOLOGY's first CD to feature the group's new lineup, including vocalist Jonathan Huber and second guitarist Kevin Schwartz, who have spent time on the road with their new bandmates during recent U.S. and European tours with DEICIDE and OBITUARY.
