The most awaited and much anticipated Rock concert, “Reloaded” featuring STILL WATERS from Gangtok, was held here at Cafe Live & Loud, Gangtok on 21st April 2012. Produced and managed by THE ALPINE ATTITUDE, an event management company based in Sikkim, the concert was supposed to be an open air concert with venue as MG Marg, Gangtok but due to incessant rain and bad weather, the venue was changed.

The world knows him as “The God Of Small Strings”, an ex- MOTHERJANE, WRENZ UNITED lead guitarist, composer, producer and guitar teacher. He twice has been voted as the best guitarist at The Jack Daniel’s Awards (India), and often incorporates Carnatic inspired riffs and solos that don’t fail to experience you goose bumps. Baiju recently released his first studio single with KAAV and also working on his solo album. So here’s an interview with him to gain some insight into his work and his music career.

Jamey Jasta of HATEBREED and KINGDOM OF SORROW released his debut solo album, simply titled JASTA, on 26th July via EONE MUSIC. The CD, which was made available in Europe one day earlier through CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS, is now available for streaming in its entirety at Aol Music.

Flamboyant Finnish Rock band RECKLESS LOVE, who feature in their ranks former CRASHDIET singer Olli Herman, will release their second studio album, ANIMAL ATTRACTION on 26th September via SPINEFARM RECORDS. The CD's first single, HOT, is available, complete with the previously unreleased bonus track YOUNG & CRAZY.

NEMHAIN - the U.K.-based band featuring drummer Adrian Erlandsson (AT THE GATES, PARADISE LOST, Ex-CRADLE OF FILTH) and his wife, Amber - has made its new EP, THE MURDER MILE, available for "FREE DOWNLOAD". (Zip file, 22 Mb).

After 5 years of Rock 'N' Roll, Pune, Maharashtra based Funk/ Progressive Rock band PROSODY is out with their debut album entitled PAPER PLANE lately.

American Power Metal band ICED EARTH have entered the studio to begin recording their new album, DYSTOPIA, for a tentative late 2011 release via CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS. The CD will mark the band's recording debut with singer Stu Block (INTO ETERNITY), who joined ICED EARTH in March following the departure of Matt Barlow. (Note: Barlow is performing with the band on all summer festival dates. Block will take over from there, starting with the European leg of ICED EARTH's world tour in November.)

Yesterday evening as I was walking down New Friends Colony, I saw that the sign board for The Mezz a pub in that area and a regular venue for Metal gigs was missing ,I asked the waiter who was standing outside Daawat Khaana (the restaurant opposite to the mezz which was in collaboration) what happened, to which he replied that it has closed, I enquired till when, to which he said forever. On this hearing this I was shocked, as now one of the premier joints for metal and the place which had pretty much introduced me to the scene was now over.
